Training
Developing global health personnel for the future
The Bureau of International Health Cooperation develops human resources by providing various training opportunities for people both in developing countries and Japan.
We accept young administrators and health personnel in developing countries as trainees and conduct training programs contributing to improvement of public health and strengthening of health system. We aim to develop human resources who acquire expert knowledge and skills through the training in Japan and strive to improve the situation of their homeland. Training also increase the number of developing countries personnel who understand Japan, thus foster friendship between those countries and Japan.
For Japanese trainees, we provide various seminars and training courses aiming to develop health human resources that are active globally. International health cooperation requires capacity of management, coordination and communication on top of health and medical skills. In the training, we intend to balance basic knowledge and practical skills, and apply not only lectures but also various participatory learnings through workshops, discussions and field works in developing countries. We intend to raise awareness among young Japanese health staff of international cooperation and assist them to draw a carrier vision towards global health personnel.
