Bureau of International Health Cooperation, National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM), as one of the leading organization concerning global health, is executing activities based on its mission. The mission is "aiming to realize a world where all people have equal opportunity to lead a healthy life, the Bureau of International Health Cooperation provides support around the world, including developing countries, to improve health care using our expertise and contributes to creating healthier lives for the people of Japan by bringing these experiences back to Japan."

As the waves of change surge our era, global health is also washed by new trends.

G7 Ise-Shima Summit adopted "G7 Ise-Shima Vision for Global Health" emphasizing global health architecture, health system strengthening to aim at universal health coverage (UHC), anti-microbial resistance (AMR) and research, development and innovation.

In such a new trend, the Institute for Global Health Policy Research (iGHP) was set up under the Bureau of International Health Cooperation, NCGM in October 2016.  Projects of global extension of medical technologies led by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan (MHLW) entered its third year, facilitating introduction of Japan's excellent medical system and technologies to countries around the world.

As an expert organization in the field of global health, we will collaborate with governmental institutions such as MHLW, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), academia such as universities, research institutes and academic associations, NGOs and corporations. Under such collaboration we will dispatch experts to technical cooperation projects in developing countries, train both domestic and overseas health personnel, reseach global health and recommend policies through international conferences. Towards further development of global health, we will tap into our over 30 years of experiences and promote effective and high quality international health cooperation.

I sincerely ask for your kind support and cooperation.
