Projects for the Growth of Medical Technologies

Japan attained one of the highest levels of healthy life expectancy and health status under the universal health insurance coverage (UHC).  To contribute to the achievement of UHC in other countries based on the long-standing experiences and knowledge of Japan, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare established the Projects for the Growth of Medical Technologies. The projects aim to support the improvement of healthcare in low- and middle-income countries while facilitating the growth of the Japanese health industry.

Each year, implementing organizations of the projects dispatch Japanese experts in the field of health policy, healthcare delivery, and health industry to low- and middle-income countries and also welcome health professionals from these countries to share experiences of Japan's health system including public health insurance scheme and to promote innovative medical equipment, devices and drugs.
